About Us

Burpee's European operations are made up of three companies: Burpee Europe Ltd., Burpee NL BV and Burpee Europe BV. All are wholly owned subsidiaries of W. Atlee Burpee & Co. (www.burpee.com), based in Warminster, Pennsylvania, USA and founded in 1876.

Burpee Europe Ltd. was established in the UK in 2012 to conduct plant breeding research alongside seed sales of Burpee’s proprietary varieties across Europe. We now focus on marketing, sales, and order fulfilment to the UK market specifically. Burpee NL operates from our nursery near Rotterdam, working to expand the research projects initiated at Burpee Europe. Burpee Europe BV was formed at the end of 2021 to serve the EU market.

Our passion at Burpee Europe is to develop tasty, disease resistant vegetables for use by home gardeners across the continent, enabling and encouraging the cultivation of gardens for the myriad benefits they bring to individuals and communities.

We are proud to offer a diverse range of the highest quality tomato, sweet and hot pepper, cucumber, and other vegetable varieties. In addition, the team at Burpee NL is working on developing a range of stunning new flower varieties including Sunflowers, Marigolds, Zinnias and more.
